Marco, let me say that it is a pleasure to invite you to our site as a sponsor. The assistance that you have provided our club in the past and your continued support of our website is greatly appreciated.

Also, let me thank you for your generous website hosting offer. For those who may not be aware, hosting a site for $5 per month is a terrific bargain.

$5 a month can be found elsewhere easy enough, however the level of tech support through Marco is quite a bit more than you will ever get anywhere else. He has been invaluable when we have had problems.

That price is in par with others. In fact Go Daddy is offering the same package for $4.74 per month. The key will be in the customer support offered.

Ah, but GoDaddy is pure evil, and I want to avoid them.

My local ISP wants an outrageous amount for setup, so while reliable and convenient, I still need more options. I don't know what the par really is, though.

Thank You very much to Doc & the Board !

Yes, that does sound very good indeed. What are the setup/domain registration fees?

There are NO Setup Fees, and Domain Registration depends on the TLD & years selected. I.E. .COM/.NET/.ORG are $8.95 for 1 year, $25.49 for 3 years ($8.49/year) ... We use ENOM for our domain registrar. They are not the cheapest, but have proven reliable & very helpful in case that an issue arrises our of many of the major registrars.

That price is in par with others. In fact Go Daddy is offering the same package for $4.74 per month. The key will be in the customer support offered.

Jay,

Our prices are on par with many companies out there, but not with everyone out there. There are many companies we cannot, and will not compete with.

We have select customers, none of whom will abuse our servers.

I have worked in the Web Hosting industry for the past 8 years, several Data Centers large & small, small Domestic & Large International Hosting Companies. I will not go into common practices by the large guys, but let me just say that I do not operate the way they do ....

Every one of my clients has my email address, most of them have my Cell phone number too. I do have a ticket based help desk, just like most hosting companies ... but if anybody needs help, they usually just email me.

Ah, but GoDaddy is pure evil, and I want to avoid them.

No Setup Fee, and a convenient Control Panel :)

In this day, more than ever, you get what you pay for. Any of us who are on the website committee can tell you that Marco has gone well beyond what he has had to to help our club develop and maintain our site. Personally, I won't even consider anyone else if I decide to put my business site back up. With the quick and clean access every time I go to get on our site and the lack of unplanned downtime I'm sold. Even the transition from Drupal to phpBB went very smoothly. This is largely due to Marco working with us. Again, going well beyond what he had to.

Okay, then; I'm sold. I've been dragging my feet on this long enough, so it's time to act.

What I need are three domains, a .com, a.net, and a .org. Only the .org is to really actually do anything, with the other two just being autoredirects to the .org site in case somebody mis-types, or worse, in case some spoofer wants to try anything funny.

AnOldSalt,

I'm glad to hear :)

Whenever you're ready, I do have a full billing system where you can place your order at any point. Provided everything is proper with the order, it'll create your account & hosting packaging within about a minute. You can also register all your domains, and add them to the Hosting Package as ADD ON DOMAINS within the Control Panel.

The Control Panel has Fantastico installed, where you can choose from about 50 different applications it'll install for you with the push of a button (forums, CMS, guest books, ecommerce suites, etc..)

Our Billing System & Client Access system is located at the following URL:

http://billing.swfl-hosting.com

Al Orders can be placed there, including Domain Registrations, Transfers & Renewals.
