Algaebarn.com

Anyone have any experience with algaebarn.com? Or ever consider ordering from them. I was thinking of ordering some pods to replenish what I lost when I redid my sumo and which has never recovered for some reason. They have a mixture of three pods that looks like what I want but just thought I would ask you guys what you thought.

Here is where I'm thinking about ordering from. https://www.coralreefing.com/they are located in Nashville, TN. Nice easy UPS ground trip Nashville, Montgomery, Pensacola, my house. Plus prices are a lot better than Reef Nutrition.

Like the prices and whats available from Algae Barn. The only drawback I see is they are in Colorado. Will USPS 2day Priority make it in 2 days? You can see I have a lot of faith in USPS. If you go that route let me know how it goes.

I don't know about the two day thing Trent but I would hope so as long as goes out early. They rate well with others who have purchased and looks like they replaced the one I saw that was DOA. The prices get even better the more you buy. I sent them an email this morning to see if when you order larger quantities if you just got more small bags vs one larger bag so maybe could be a group buy thing if people are interested.

I've done pods from other sources, self-sustaining ones. I have so many pods its insane. I did have a green manderin until it got caught in the MP60 so nothing really goes after them right now. I can tell you they do the majority of the algae control.

They don't have amphipods but don't think I have ever seen anyone that does on a commercial scale. The do have a type that is a bit bigger than the tisbe and tigger but they are not on same scale as amphipods

We never ended up doing this group buy. The guys at algae barn were very responsive and they offered up some prices I thought were fair for large quantities but only caveat was they would be bulk packed and not broken into individual sizes for each person so we would have had to come up with a way to separate and with pods being the size they are I thought that darn near impossible. I know I just want ordered their new user two for one and will post when it comes in what I think about it. I think someone else just posted about doing it as well.

I received my two for one order just as expected. They pack really well and there were lots of little bugs in he bag. Hard to verify the number of course but product looks good and I dumped it all in the new tank so will see how it goes.

I used their new member buy one get one as well and was happy.  Of course, my tank was still in the dark even after just circulating for over 2 months after a small Pukani die off cycle, so was perfect for the pods. I fed phyto every 3-4 days and got a phyto bloom once the lights were on, but that's already clearing up fast :)  With so many pods running around in there already it may be a waste, but I'll likely make another small order at some point just to be sure the fuge is seeded, unless I can see them there already.

LOL, Happy Hour Hero stopped by a few days ago and pods was the only thing I could show off!!!  The glass is crawling with them!

I'm from CO so I knew the guy ;) he's amazing and I recommend him 100%! I bought a few once to replenish my tank and they did the job just fine.

He was showing off a new species that they are carrying now at MACNA.  Very nice guy.  New species was larger than tisbe but was a swimmer at juvenile and crawler at adult,  this way you could stock the sump and the swimmers constantly supplying your display.  I had planned on buying a few pouches but was worried about heat.  And then I didn't see them on the last day.
