Anemones

Recommended Posts

The only anemones I have ever seen in Destin have been in deeper water and even then I have not seen but one or two. You can collect damsel fish at the jetty and I have seen feather dusters down there as well. I have heard of people collecting peppermint shrimp I. Winter but I have never seen one. I am sure there are other things as well

You got to be careful with the nems that are in this area. There is one that I've heard of that if you touch it with your finger you're willing to cut it off to stop the pain.

Yea, after if grows about 20 more inches, with a little lemon pepper. You might want to take it back, the tripletail has a catch restriction on the species. Max 2 per day over 15 inches

Man my frillfin was less than 2" when I got it. Now its about 4" and eats anything it can, with a real taste for peppermint shrimp or small fish.

The Molly Millers are fun little fish.

My stuff from the gulf is all savage. I have a black blenny that eats on my pizza anemone.

Here is a local anemone. Gulf side and onshore in 20 feet or less. Tentacles are sticky but I have never felt a sting when collecting. About the size of a silver dollar.

Rickyb1982 I noticed you had collected a few Molly Millers. How are they getting along? I know they sometimes can be quite aggressive. Well at least to like critters.

I have a molly and a seaweed together in my 65. All any of them care about is food and so far they arent mean to eachother. The molly miller is for sure nicer than the seaweed.

Also these buggers eat any kind of algae you throw at them ! I have this slimy algae growing in my 28 gallon that I have no clue with it is but I hate it lol, I grabbed a rock that had some on it and threw it in with them and let me tell you they are like miniature pitbulls on that stuff lol !! It was gone in literally 10 minutes
