TrentN Report post Posted September 1, 2015 This an intersting series I found on youtube. Bulk Reef Supply is doing a 52 week tank build on a reef tank. A couple of days ago they posted week 9, so it has a long way to go. This series has already given me too many ideas. Week

drauka Report post Posted September 2, 2015 Makes me wish I had a tank room. I would have been more impressed with how neat everything was if it was all under the stand.
TrentN Report post Posted September 9, 2015 I've been thinking the same thing. I guess they want to put it in a fish room so it's easier to show on camera. A new episode came out couple of days ago. Rocks. After watching it I don't think I did a single think right when i set up the 65g tank. Well the tank is in good order but I sure did things the hard way compaired to how BRS did it. You live and learn, trial and error, mix and match, finding out works best for you and your situation. We will definitely be doing things differently when the 90g goes up. TrentN Report post Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) BRS released week 17 protein skimmers. Really not something you haven't heard or seen before if you've done any kind of research on skimmer types. This is just a bump so those that haven't checked it out can. I still highly recommend the series so far. it does have a ton of information and a different perspective. I wish I had the space for a recirculating skimmer for the 65g. Maybe the 90g when we get serious about that build. kbass Report post Posted October 27, 2015 I've been watching the whole series. I agree...there are some really good ideas mixed in.
drauka Report post Posted October 27, 2015 they really like Vertex skimmers. I've learned a few things from the different videos on their site. Definitely some stuff I would incorporate if possible in new builds too.
TrentN Report post Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Yea they do love the Vetex, to tell the truth after looking at many different sites and reviews I can't blame them. It' looks like Vertex makes a very very good skimmer. They have also started a bromance with the Seneye system. Which has some nice innovative features that I wouldn't be surprised to see in the Apex or Reefkeeper soon. Edited October 27, 2015 by TrentN
TrentN Report post Posted December 17, 2015 The last 2 weeks have been interesting. Week 23 was about cuc. How much and when to add. Week 24 was about chemical filtration. Again if you have't checked out this series it's well worth your time. I'm not saying its the end all but they do have some good ideas. And a different perspective. TrentN Report post Posted May 8, 2016 BRS just did week 42. For the newbie or those that haven't seen this series it's worth your time. It has given me many new ideas and showed me just what and how bad I went wrong on the first build.
TrentN Report post Posted May 8, 2016 I finally watched week 42 it was about maintenance, gave me a couple of things to think about, I do the 20-30% every 2 weeks. Week 43 should be interesting, it's about controllers.
