Looks good. For reference when I build my sump I bought a full 4*8 sheet of 1/4" acrylic and it was about 150 from city glass. I cut it myself so no charge for that.

Plus the cost of the weld on which is probably close to the 30 I spent on silicone. Of course I only used about 2/3 of one tube and did not need second one

Only had one spot that leaked and it was an internal seal on the panel from refugium to the return section. I don't want that spot leaking so after a period of time for stress test will drain it and dry it out and reseal that one spot.

I like the high sides. I used a 40 breeder for my sump and it's a great size but I think my baffles are a few inches to high.

I wanted to make sure was plenty of room for tank to settle back if power off. The over all dimensions of sump at 20x25 are not too far from from the tank at 24x24 and the tank level only drops about two inches when it is fully settled so I have plenty of space in sump and should have three inches to spare if not more because return section is lower and will have to fill first.

Just got done programming float switches into the ATO program on the apex. I borrowed the code from Drauka's post minus the fifth switch. Unfortunately I will not be setting them into action till tomorrow because of the re-seal on the one baffle. It seams dry to me but I am not taking chances and want to give it another day vs chancing my tank occupants if not fully cured. Meanwhile I have already got my new saltwater mixed up and ready to go. Planning to soak the skimmer pump and main in vinegar tomorrow during the change over to take advantage of the down time. Maybe I will clean the Rw-8's today. I got the module in mail Thursday to hook them to the apex but am still a little daunted by the code to get the, where I want them.

There is plenty of room for that however salt creep is going to be a bit of a problem I'll have to work out. Most of the problem is that my filter socks are too small and the current skimmer is not great so it creates a lot of bubbles that pop and splash water.

Well I was able to hook the Rw-8's to the apex and get them running with a very simple patter via fusion setup. Right now they are only running a cycle between 20 and 50 percent power. Before I go to bed I will have them programmed to run at 25% power over night to give the fish a much needed break and hopefully I will have three or four profiles set up to run the pumps more varied through out the day. Still learning to get them set up a little more advanced.

I was going to get those until I started researching the Gyre. I may still get one though.

Drauka likes his gyre and I think bought another one to add with his current. I looked at them hard but decided to get the control module for what I already had.

Yup. I have the 130. Another used 130 popped up and will be added then it get here. Lots of flow options with 2. Get the 150 if buying new. The 130 is for 50 and smaller reefs IMHO

I wasn't sure what size to get. So I'll keep the 130 when it gets here and see how it works for now. I can always add a Jeabo later

New sump in the stand and working. What a difference. Now I have to change some plumbing. Home Depot and lowes closed early yesterday so needed a couple of fittings to do what I needed to do. Will get them in way home today. Then I just need to do something with that mess of power wires and hoses. Then I will have to find a new project. Anybody that has been considering building their own sump because they were just not happy with what they have, so it. So glad I did this and was very easy.

Time for a small update on my tank. Ordered some goodies from BulkReef Supply.

I ordered a lot of the little pieces to make my top off system a little nicer and a little more fool proof. The bulkhead and acrylic rods to replace a chunk of hose shoved through the lid of a ten gallon bucket. Thought I would try Some fancy super glue. It says it sets faster than normal which would be nice. Got a proper filter sock holder and ordered some new filter socks(on another order). Also got one of the marine pure blocks which is sitting in a bucket of fresh saltwater with a power head because it is dusty as all get out. Got a gallon of the premium ROX Carbon so now I have to prioritize getting my reactors back up. Am switching out one of my 550 reactors with Drauka for a 150 because the 550 just holds too much carbon and just equates to a mess. I also ordered on of there dosing kits so I can use it for maintenance with the Kalk being my primary method of replacing calcium and alkalinity.

I also bought two 55 gallon barrels and another eb8 power strip for my Apex which will eventually be a large freshwater holding, mixing station, and automatic water change set up.(this is a ways off yet)
