  6. I have Officially Lost my Mind, 240 Build

Few more updates. Tank is running with salt. Upped the Varios 8s to setting #2 on the 1-5 (5 max) they only pull about 44 watts each and move a lot of water. Hung the lights over the weekend. I like them. 2018-07-09_12-38-25 by drauka99, on Flickr Also got the mixing station plumbed. Using an external pump, can direct the flow into either barrel to either mix or move water as needed. Should be able to do some water changes pretty fast. 2018-07-09_12-41-33 by drauka99, on Flickr the barrels are completely open top so i can remove the lid and dump in salt easily or inspect the inside of the barrels easily from a step stool.

Does anyone in this group on occasion sell ricordeas?

  10. Yea, when I first put the tank up two years ago i thought about t5's. At the time i was like leds have a ton of controlability so I chose leds. T5's I feel like the light spreads more evenly, but it is what it is. LEDs are just a pain to adjust to your tank when you already have coral in it.

I'm just gonna say I hate LEDs because of having to always fiddle with the settings to dial in the channels just right. (And I have 11 tanks with various LED fixtures.) Someday I'm going back to T5s and/or halides, just change the bulbs every 12 months and call it a day.
  12. I will, I'm just gonna bring the intensity down and start low and work my way up. Hopefully it will work better for me. Thanks

  14. First coral

I will defiantly look into those as well I am interested in those
  15. First coral

^^ Agree; but go with some nice Ricordeas or something. Those don't seem to spread as quickly & detach/roll around.

I’ve never run my UV that high so I couldn’t speak to it. Maybe try kicking them down at some point too, it’s a lot harder to do damage with to little light. Ya can over light in a super short amount of time comparatively. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. First coral

No problem, I'm located in fwb btw. Xenia is a softie and pretty easy to keep. It ultimately depends on what you want.
  18. First coral

Thanks I will defiantly do some research on care and get back with you it will be a little bit before I start adding coral to the tank
  19. First coral

I have some pulsing xenias you can have. They are neat to watch they are my wife's favorite bc of the movement they create in the tank. The only problem is they grow really quick unless you don't mind that.
  20. First coral

I’m a fan of mushrooms as starters myself. Ya get to see them open and close and respond to changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. First coral

Looking at possible adding first coral to the tank in the next two months or so wondering what is a good first coral
  24. Bluewater Zoo

They are real good to hobbiests that like to trade and commission coral frag. Love em for that and they are responsible with their sourcing unlike most that just rip corals off the reefs and resell. High quality fish as well.
  25. Moving and selling it all

Interested in all if available. 850 368 7three 35 can pick up anytime
  26. Okay thanks, so should I take my blue down to 10 to 15 %? It's currently ramping up to 30% using the excel spreadsheet. White and warm white 4%. With uv maxing to 100% because Mike said uv is good for coral.
